Mold Carnival returns to Maes Bodlonfa Fields, known locally as The Rec and Kendricks Field, on Sunday, July 5, transforming the site into a vibrant celebration of colour, music, and laughter. Thousands of visitors are expected for what organisers describe as Flintshire's biggest and best free family event, offering live entertainment, interactive activities, and spectacular performances for all ages.
Prehistoric Zeus and Baby Dinosaurs
Prehistoric Zeus, Europe's largest walking T-Rex dinosaur, will roam the carnival grounds, standing 12 feet tall and measuring 22 feet long. This year, Zeus brings newly hatched baby dinosaurs, allowing visitors to get close to the hatchlings. Organisers warn the babies may have a little nibble. Hands-on science workshops and character meet-and-greets are also planned, including Woody and Jessie from Toy Story, Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps from Zootropolis, and Minions Kevin and Bob.
400+ Community Performers on Stage
More than 400 community performers will take to the main stage throughout the day, including Urban Fusion, Buckley Cheerleaders, Côr y Pentan, Rock Choir, Dance Maniax, and Inversion Aerial Fitness Studio. Shellie, an 80s diva and Blondie enthusiast, will bring an energetic party atmosphere. Brody Duncan, winner of the 2024 Time2Shine Competition, returns with his band Anomaly, featuring Abe, Charlie, Will, and Brody, aged 15 and 16, performing classics from The Who, The Beatles, Queen, Arctic Monkeys, McFly, and Black Sabbath.
Mali Sigsworth and BT Big Band
Mali Sigsworth, recently seen at Live on the Square and the Sunday Gathering Artisan Market, blends Country, Folk, and Soul in her performances. The BT Big Band, formed in memory of friend Ben Thomas, includes members of the Royal Buckley Town Band, continuing his positivity through uplifting music. Cambria Band, celebrating its 20th anniversary, will lead the Carnival Parade and offer free musical workshops throughout the day.
DJ Cookie Partyman and It's a Knockout
DJ Cookie Partyman and Wilf return with their Big Blue Battle Bus, bringing music and fun as part of the Ripple Effect Challenge, free of charge. The popular It's a Knockout Challenge invites local businesses, charities, and community groups to compete in hilarious challenges for the title of Mold Carnival Knockout Champions 2026. Teams of 10 adults must pre-register; entries are not accepted on the day. Contact Mold Town Council via email at events@moldtowncouncil.org.uk or phone 01352 758532 (Option 3).

Visitors can enjoy a bustling fun fair, food and drink stalls, community and charity stands, decorated tractors, and family activities.
