Peplow Hall Estate, a hidden gem in Shropshire, is launching new garden short breaks for visitors. The estate, set in 64 acres of magnificent gardens in Market Drayton, offers five luxury cottages and a five-day itinerary that includes visits to celebrated English gardens.
Garden Break Highlights
The itinerary features a trip to David Austin Roses, where guests can admire the Sir David Beckham bloom, created at the request of his daughter Harper for his 50th birthday. Other stops include Wollerton Old Hall Garden, praised by BBC gardeners Carol Klein and Monty Don, and the romantic Dorothy Clive Garden, originally created as a labour of love by Colonel Harry Clive for his wife.
Guests will also enjoy a private tour of Peplow Hall and a visit to Grooms Cottage Garden, winner of the BBC Gardeners' World 2024 People's Choice Award.
Accommodation and Pricing
Accommodation is in five beautifully restored former estate workers' cottages, all listed and rich in original character features. The first hosted garden retreat runs from July 5 to 10, with dates for October 2026 and Spring 2027 already planned. The five-day itinerary costs £175 per person, including transport, lunches, and refreshments. Cottage stays start from £250 per night.
Alternative Stays in Shropshire
Other options include The Shooting Folly in Cheswardine, a quirky 19th-century building with a crenelated mock church tower, and Ollerton Bull Barn near Market Drayton, a former bull barn with exposed beams and bike storage ideal for exploring Regional Cycle Route 75.
