The Telford Balloon Fiesta is set to make a spectacular return in summer 2026, offering a weekend of free entertainment that promises aerial displays, live music, and family-friendly activities. This popular event, located just 40 minutes from Birmingham, provides an ideal opportunity for residents to enjoy a vibrant outdoor experience without any cost on Saturday and Sunday.

Event Details and Schedule

The fiesta kicks off on Friday, August 28, with a ticketed Night Glow event from 5 to 10 pm, where illuminated balloons will light up the skies over Telford Town Park, synchronized to music. This evening also features stage shows and live acts, ensuring plenty of visual and auditory delights for attendees.

On Saturday, August 29, and Sunday, August 30, all events are completely free to enjoy. The Telford Balloon Fiesta Weekender will take place in the QEII Arena from 12 to 7 pm, starting with the Wings Parachute Team making a dramatic entrance and gravity-defying displays from the Stanage Stunt Team. Throughout the day, visitors can witness balloon tethering demonstrations and explore various ground activities.

Families will appreciate the Montessori Rainbow space, a calm and comfortable area designed for feeding, changing, and taking quiet breaks. In addition to the balloon festivities, the Telford Community Carnival Day runs on Sunday, August 30, from 12 to 4 pm in the arena and across Southwater. Getting to Telford Town Park is convenient for Birmingham residents. By car, the journey takes approximately 40 minutes via the M6 and M54, depending on traffic. Parking is available at Southwater multi-storey on Northfield Street, open 24 hours, and Dark Lane car park, open from 8:30 am to 8 pm in the summer, with charges applying to both.

Alternatively, a direct train from Birmingham New Street Station to Telford takes about 35 to 45 minutes, with the park located a mile away from the station. This makes the event easily accessible for those preferring public transport.
