Channel 4 to Air Documentary on Beckham Family Feud and Explosive Allegations
A new one-off documentary from Channel 4 is set to delve into the ongoing saga surrounding the Beckham family, examining the recent public fallout and bombshell claims that have surfaced. Titled Beckham: Family At War – Untold, the programme will focus on the tensions between Brooklyn Peltz Beckham and his parents, Sir David Beckham and Lady Victoria Beckham.
Brooklyn's Instagram Accusations and Family Rift
The documentary will explore the six-page Instagram story shared by Brooklyn, the eldest of the Beckhams' four children, on January 19. In his statement, Brooklyn made a series of accusations against his parents, including the claim that they prioritise 'Brand Beckham' over everything else. He also insisted that he does not wish to reconcile with his family, confirming a long-speculated feud for the first time.
Brooklyn alleged that his parents control narratives about the family in the press and attempted to 'ruin' his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham. He further claimed that Nicola was not invited to Sir David's 50th birthday party, adding to the strain.
David Beckham's Response and Social Media Commentary
In response, Sir David Beckham addressed the situation in an interview with CNBC’s Squawk Box on January 20. He emphasised that parents must allow their children to 'make mistakes' on social media, noting its potential dangers but advocating for its use for the right reasons. 'I’ve tried to do the same with my children to educate them. They make mistakes. Children are allowed to make mistakes. That’s how they learn,' he stated.
Wedding Incident and Emotional Fallout
The documentary will also cover Brooklyn's allegation that Lady Beckham 'hijacked' his first dance with Nicola at their wedding, dancing 'inappropriately' on him in front of guests. Brooklyn described feeling 'more uncomfortable or humiliated' than ever before.
Supporting this claim, DJ Fat Tony, who performed at the three-day wedding, revealed in an interview on ITV’s This Morning that Nicola was in tears after the incident. He explained that US singer Marc Anthony called for 'the most beautiful woman in the room' to come on stage, leading guests to believe it was for Nicola's first dance with Brooklyn. Instead, Lady Beckham was invited to dance with her son, prompting Nicola to leave the room crying.
