About the Dakota
The Douglas C-47 Skytrain, known as the Dakota in British service, was a military transport aircraft used extensively by the Allies during World War II. The BBMF Dakota, painted in D-Day invasion stripes, is one of only two airworthy Dakotas in the UK. It regularly participates in air shows and commemorative events.
