Liverpool Book Festival Returns March 2026: 60+ Authors, VIP Talks & Kids Zone
Liverpool Book Festival 2026: Tickets, Authors & Details

The countdown has officially begun for the return of the Liverpool Book Festival, the city's largest-ever literary celebration. Following a blockbuster debut that attracted over a thousand visitors and coverage from BBC News, the festival is set to transform Box Park in the historic Cain's Brewery Village once again.

A Literary Extravaganza for All Ages

The event will take place on Sunday, 8 March 2026, from 11am until 5pm. Building on its initial success, organisers promise an even bigger and better experience for bibliophiles and families. The heart of the festival will be the chance to meet and get books signed by more than 60 of the region's finest authors, who will be selling their work directly to the public.

This impressive line-up includes bestselling novelists like Caroline Corcoran and Jane Costello, alongside celebrity special guests such as actor Ricky Tomlinson, comedian Stan Boardman, and SAS national hero Rusty Firmin. The comic world will be well-represented by editors and illustrators from major publishers, including Nigel Parkinson, the cartoonist behind Dennis the Menace for The Beano and The Dandy.

Ticket Options and VIP Experiences

With Early Bird tickets already sold out, Standard Tickets remain available for £17.50. This price represents great value as it includes a £7.50 drink token to use at the event and a complimentary goody bag. Ticket holders gain full access to all author signings, artisan stalls, live acoustic music, and street food from Box Park's traders.

For those seeking a more exclusive experience, VIP tickets are priced at £40. These offer all standard benefits plus a £15 food voucher, access to a designated VIP area with a private bar, and entry to intimate talks and Q&A sessions with the special guests. This is a unique opportunity for deeper engagement with the festival's headline authors and personalities.

Family Fun and Creative Workshops

True to its community spirit, the Liverpool Book Festival is a thoroughly family-friendly affair. A dedicated Kids Zone will host a wide variety of activities suitable for children aged four to 15. Children's tickets cost £10 (with under-threes going free) and pack in a full schedule of entertainment.

Young visitors can enjoy storytelling sessions, a positivity club with mental health games, creative writing and illustration workshops with author Helen Poole, and poetry workshops. Interactive fun will include eco-education with Walter the Wheelie Bin, a visit from Indy The Therapy Dog, and meet-and-greets with cosplay characters in full attire.

Beyond the books, the festival atmosphere will be bolstered by artisan stalls selling unique crafts, live tarot readings, and delicious street food. The event promises a full day of cultural immersion, celebrating the written word and creative talent in the heart of Liverpool.
