Fantasy Sea Creatures Workshops Announced for Festival of the Sea

The Waterfront Gallery in Milford Haven is set to host a series of free creative workshops for children as part of Milford Waterfront's Festival of the Sea celebrations next month. These workshops, titled Fantasy Sea Creatures, will be led by resident artists Lesley Dearn and Gina Hughes, offering two simultaneous drop-in sessions suitable for children aged four and above, with adult accompaniment required.

Workshop Details and Activities

Each workshop will accommodate up to six children at a time, with sessions lasting 30 minutes. All necessary materials and tools will be provided free of charge. Gina Hughes will run a clay activity workshop where children can explore the texture of modelling clay by creating fish and small sea creatures inspired by the coastal waters of Pembrokeshire. Participants will be able to take their handmade sea creatures home at the end of the session.

Lesley Dearn's workshop will focus on watercolour techniques, including printing, blotting, and stencilling, to craft magical fantasy sea creatures. Children will bring their creations to life through drawing, painting, stencilling, and collage, producing several paintings to take home. These workshops provide an excellent opportunity to stimulate imagination, explore artistic materials, and offer a screen-free space for families to create together.
