Lincolnshire Hidden Exhibition July 2026 Student Talent

The forgotten landscapes, local legends and hidden stories of Lincolnshire are being brought to life this July in a unique public exhibition. Created entirely by the county's next generation of creative talent, the showcase offers a fresh perspective on what makes the area so distinctive.

Exhibition Details and Launch

The exhibition, titled 'Lincolnshire: Hidden in Plain Sight', is presented by the talented students of Access Creative College Lincoln. The collection features a diverse range of work from students studying games, media and music, combining traditional art forms with modern digital technology. Visitors can experience the county's history through photography, film, animation, indie video games, digital art, original music and interactive displays.

The event kicks off with a special launch evening on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 5pm to 8pm at the Barbican Creative Hub on St Mary's Street. The launch gives guests, local employers and educators a chance to enjoy refreshments and meet the young minds behind the projects. Following the launch night, the exhibition officially opens to the general public on Thursday, July 9, 2026, running from 10am until 8pm.

Student Talent and Regional Economy

The project highlights the technical abilities and industry-ready skills the students have developed, while celebrating the region's growing creative economy. Daniel Swinburne, head of centre at Access Creative College Lincoln, said: “Lincolnshire is often associated with its beautiful countryside and historic landmarks, but there are countless stories, communities and perspectives that can easily go unnoticed.

“Our students have challenged themselves to uncover those hidden aspects of our county and interpret them through a wide range of creative disciplines. The result is an exhibition that not only showcases exceptional creative talent but also celebrates Lincolnshire itself. We are incredibly proud of what our students have achieved and hope visitors leave feeling inspired by both the work on display and the remarkable young people behind it.”

Free Admission for All

Admission to the public exhibition at the Barbican Creative Hub is completely free for everyone. This event underscores the college's commitment to nurturing local talent and contributing to the cultural vibrancy of Lincolnshire.
