Meet the Performers: Emily Ampt
Emily Ampt is an Australian violinist currently completing her Master of Music at the prestigious Royal Northern College of Music, where she studies under the guidance of Pavel Fischer. A dedicated and versatile musician, Emily excels in chamber, orchestral, and solo performances. She frequently collaborates with Manchester's top professional ensembles, including the BBC Philharmonic and Manchester Camerata.
Her impressive resume also includes performances with The Hallé and active participation in various projects with the RNCM's orchestras and chamber ensembles. Notably, she is a member of the Voluta Quartet. Before moving to the UK, Emily earned her Bachelor and Postgraduate Certificate in Music Studies at the Queensland Conservatorium in Australia, studying with Associate Professor Michele Walsh and Queensland Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster Natsuko Yoshimoto.
Emily has enriched her skills through solo and chamber masterclasses with renowned artists such as Jennifer Pike and David Requiro. Recent career highlights include performing Mahler's Symphony No. 3 with the BBC Philharmonic, participating in a Roxanna Panufnik Focus event at Wigmore Hall, contributing to Manchester Camerata's A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Composers, and playing with the RNCM Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Edward Gardner.
Meet the Performers: Siqi Huang
Siqi Huang is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Piano Performance at the Royal Northern College of Music. Her musical journey began with outstanding achievements, as she was admitted to the High School Affiliated with the Xinghai Conservatory of Music in 2018, where she earned the highest marks in both piano performance and academic subjects.
In 2021, Siqi achieved the top score in the Guangdong Provincial Entrance Examination for Piano and was accepted into the Piano Department of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music for her undergraduate studies. She has further honed her craft by participating in masterclasses with internationally acclaimed pianists, including Boris Berman, Matti Raekallio, and Bruce Brubaker, as well as prominent Chinese pianists Qin Chuan and Wu Chun. Her artistry and musical sensitivity have garnered high praise from these experts.
