Moses Martin, 19, Launches Music Career with Debut Single 'Promise'
Chris Martin's son Moses launches music career

The music world has a notable new entrant as Moses Martin, the 19-year-old son of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and actress Gwyneth Paltrow, officially launches his singing career. He makes his debut as the lead singer of the alternative rock band People I've Met, whose first single, 'Promise', was released this week.

A Musical Debut with Major Backing

Moses, who is currently studying at Brown University, fronts the trio which also includes bandmates Andrew Suster and Orlando Wiltshire. In a significant move for a new act, the group has secured a record deal with the industry giant Interscope Records. The label is home to global superstars including Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, and Lady Gaga.

The debut track, 'Promise', introduces a moody, guitar-driven sound that stands in stark contrast to the anthemic pop of his father's band, Coldplay. Moses announced the release on his Instagram, writing: “Promise by @peopleivemet is #out. So proud of this song. Endlessly grateful for the band and @noahconrad for helping to make this song so special. Hope you enjoy. Sincerely, Moses Martin.”

Not His First Time in the Spotlight

While People I've Met only formed last year, originally under the name Dancer, Moses is far from a novice performer. His first major live appearance came at just 10 years old when he joined Coldplay on stage during their iconic Glastonbury 2016 set.

He has also quietly built experience behind the scenes, contributing vocals and songwriting to several Coldplay tracks. His credits include songs like 'All My Love', 'Orphans', and 'The Astronaut'.

A Musical Family Trend

Moses's career move follows his older sister, Apple Martin, 21, stepping into the musical spotlight in October 2025. Apple made her live singing debut at Cannery Hall in Nashville, performing with a student band while her father watched from the audience.

Online reaction to Apple's performance was mixed, but she too has songwriting credits on Coldplay tracks 'Let Somebody Go' and 'feelslikeimfallinginlove'. In a recent interview, their mother Gwyneth Paltrow suggested Apple might eventually follow a similar career path, despite currently studying for a pre-law degree.

The launch of Moses Martin's career marks the latest chapter for the creatively gifted family, proving that musical talent continues to flourish in the next generation.
