Married At First Sight Australia's David Momoh has taken to TikTok to mock Alissa Fay after unseen footage revealed her questioning his financial status during Homestay Week. The footage, shown on After The Dinner Party, captured Alissa expressing concerns about David's assets.
Unseen Footage Sparks Backlash
Homestay Week was intended to bring couples closer, but for David Momoh and Alissa Fay, it had the opposite effect. After her family voiced concerns about her moving to Sydney, unseen footage showed Alissa questioning David's financial stability. She said: "Obviously, you know, he's still renting. He might drive a car that he might own. But where are your assets? I need to know that you are financially stable and you can look after a family."
David admitted he offered to show Alissa his bank balance, but she declined. Since then, he has used TikTok to poke fun at the situation.
David's TikTok Response
In one video, David and fellow groom Scott McCristal are seen eating in a restaurant. The text overlay reads: "POV HOW YOUR FOOD TASTES WHEN YOU HAVE NO ASSETS, AND A CAR YOU 'MIGHT OWN'." Fans flooded the comments with support, with one writing: "The whole of Australia was shocked by the comments in the unseen footage, we ride with David." Another commented: "Image shaming someone for not having assets."
In a second video, David lies on the floor as Scott and former groom Eliot Donovan walk past and drop spare change. He then jumps up and gets into a car, mocking Alissa's comment about him owning his car. The caption reads: "POV: LIFE WHEN YOU HAVE NO ASSETS."
Scott Also Faces Criticism
David was not the only groom criticized during Homestay. Scott McCristal faced similar scrutiny from Gia Fleur, who complained about his waterfront Gold Coast home. She described it as messy, criticized his decor, and said his walk-in closet was too small. Gia remarked: "For me personally, I don't want to be a princess or like annoying, but his closet is big but I'd have to share that with him. All my stuff would be crammed in one shelf and one area. That's not comfortable for me to live." She added that the house "probably wasn't big enough" for her, though she liked the view.
For UK viewers, the fate of David and Alissa's relationship remains unknown. Can they move past this? Stay tuned for more MAFS Australia updates.
