Married At First Sight Australia's Gia Fleur has claimed that her husband Scott McCristal was given a 'good edit' on the show, portraying him in a more favorable light than she experienced in real life. The couple, who have repeatedly emphasized the strength of their relationship, faced significant challenges during Feedback Week, which ultimately led to their temporary departure from the experiment.
Feedback Week Tensions
Feedback Week was designed to help couples grow, but Gia refused to participate fully. She declined to complete a task with Danny Hewitt and tore up an anonymous letter from Stella Mickunaite and Filip Gregov. Tensions escalated, and Gia and Scott decided to leave the experiment, documenting their departure in diary cam footage. However, in typical reality TV fashion, they made a united return just in time for the next Commitment Ceremony.
Gia's Claims About Scott's Edit
Speaking on the 2Day FM Breakfast radio show, Gia asserted that Scott was given a 'good edit,' which she found surprising given that he was 'barely' featured on the show. She explained that when they weren't filming, she wanted to spend time together, but Scott was focused on work and planning a new business launch. Gia argued that her husband wasn't 'serious' about the relationship at that point, despite leaving the experiment with her. 'I mean, he's been on reality TV before. He was boasting about going on another show straight after this. So we know why Scott's there. I was very serious. I have a kid. I wanted someone to be a dad. And he just took me for a ride,' she shared.
Unseen Footage and Text Messages
During the experiment, Gia discovered photos of Scott's ex-girlfriend on his phone, which he eventually deleted. She later claimed that Scott texted his ex-girlfriend during their honeymoon, but this was not shown on TV. 'I'm watching it going, 'Well, hang on, where was this moment and this moment and this moment and this moment?' I'm like, 'What the hell's going on?' It's frustrating,' she said.
Background on Both Participants
While Scott has appeared on three different reality shows before MAFS, Gia has also sought fame, having attempted to launch a rap career. Despite their differences, the couple continues to navigate their relationship in the public eye.
