A celebrated local choir is preparing to host a major musical event alongside two visiting groups. The Millhouse Green Male Voice Choir will welcome musicians from the Midlands for a special joint concert this summer. The performance will take place at the Penistone Paramount on July 11, 2026, starting at 7.15 p.m.
Nearly 60 Years of Entertainment
The group has been entertaining audiences across the local area and beyond for almost 60 years. The upcoming show follows a highly successful tour of Coventry by the local choir back in 2024. During that tour, they delighted audiences by singing in both the new and old cathedrals.
Visiting Choirs from the Midlands
The visiting Coventry and Rugby Male Voice Choirs will now travel to Yorkshire to perform a massive variety of traditional and modern songs. The event will also mark a special milestone for the local group following a recent successful recruitment drive.
New Members Join the Ranks
Since the beginning of 2026, the choir has been running a singing course to promote the social and health benefits of group music. The initiative has successfully recruited 14 new members to the ranks, and some of these new singers will be performing at the concert.
Join the Choir
The award-winning choir rehearses every Monday evening at 7.30 p.m. at the Millhouse Institute in Millhouse Green. New members are always very welcome to attend the weekly sessions. Anyone interested in joining the group can contact choir member Paul Pearson on 07743 440208 or by email at paulpearson56@hotmail.co.uk.
