A new Nando's restaurant is set to open on Kidderminster's Riverside Walk, located on the banks of the River Stour. The venue will be situated in the heart of the town centre, near the Weaver's Wharf shopping park, joining existing eateries such as Tappeto Lounge, Wall2Wall, and Coffee #1. It is also close to Wacky Playland soft play centre and role play village, making it a family-friendly destination.
Details of the New Nando's
Known for its Portuguese flame-grilled peri-peri chicken, Nando's operates over 1,200 outlets in 30 countries. The new Kidderminster branch will be located along the River Stour, a tributary of the River Severn, and is accessible via Kidderminster station. The opening date has yet to be announced.
Council Support and Investment
Councillor Marcus Hart, Leader of Wyre Forest District Council, expressed enthusiasm about the new restaurant. He stated: 'We're pleased that Nando's has chosen Kidderminster as part of their national expansion plans. Their arrival is a clear indication that nearly £40 million of government investment in our town is delivering results, attracting major brands and breathing new life into the town centre.'
Councillor Dan Morehead, Wyre Forest District Council's Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration, Planning and the Green Agenda, added: 'We welcome the Nando's team and wish them every success in Kidderminster. Nando's at the Riverside Walk will significantly add to the choices for residents and visitors to meet up and have a great time in town with its car parks and other attractions.'
The development complements recent projects like The Piano Building opposite Riverside Walk, which offers office and food and beverage space, and the recently renovated Kidderminster Town Hall, which underwent a multi-million pound transformation into a performance venue.
