Birmingham's Cannon Hill Park became the stage for dramatic Peaky Blinders filming on Monday, April 27, with Game of Thrones actor Conleth Hill spotted on set. The 61-year-old Northern Irish star, famous for playing Varys in the hit HBO series, was seen shooting scenes on a bridge in the Edgbaston park as the gritty BBC gangster drama prepares for its return.
Harrowing Scenes Filmed
Photographs from the set show intense moments, including a woman being dragged across the bridge. Crews worked throughout the day on the upcoming post-war storyline set in the 1950s. This follows the success of the feature film The Immortal Man, but this time Cillian Murphy will not reprise his role as Tommy Shelby.
New Generation of Peaky Blinders
A new generation of characters has been confirmed, with Billy Elliot star Jamie Bell taking on the role of Tommy's eldest son, Duke Shelby. The cast also includes Charlie Heaton from Stranger Things, alongside Jessica Brown Findlay, Lashana Lynch, and Lucy Karczewski.
Film crews were visible throughout the day in the popular park. For more updates on the upcoming series, follow our Peaky Blinders coverage.
