Twycross Zoo has announced the return of its popular Lanterns of the Wild event for the 2026 Christmas season, following a successful debut in 2025. Tickets are now on sale for the Atherstone attraction's festive spectacle.
What to Expect at Lanterns of the Wild 2026
Organisers have promised an 'all new route' stretching over a mile long, featuring brand new immersive zones with 'thousands of beautiful handcrafted lanterns'. The event, which debuted last year to rave reviews, will run from November 6 through to Christmas, and on selected dates until February 28, 2027.
A spokesperson for Twycross Zoo said: "This is not a drill. You can get your tickets to the UK's best lanterns experience now! That's right, Lanterns of the Wild officially returns this winter, only at Twycross Zoo."
VIP Experience and Parent Reactions
New for 2026, visitors can purchase a VIP package that includes skipping the queue, premium parking, and access to a VIP area. Parents have reacted enthusiastically on social media, with many expressing their delight at the event's return. One said: "So glad this is returning, it was incredible last year!" Another added: "Amazing. We loved this last year - definitely up for a revisit." A third agreed: "So exciting, we loved last year's. Can't wait for this year."

Tickets are available now via the Twycross Zoo website. The event follows the half term heatwave and is expected to be a popular attraction for families across the West Midlands.
