Wolverhampton Robbie Williams Superfan Invited On Stage During Midlands Gig
Jemma Williamson, a devoted Robbie Williams fan from Wolverhampton, joined the star on stage as part of his Long 90's tour, creating a memorable moment for both the audience and the performer.
From Viral Clip to Live Performance
When she was just 14 years old, Jemma Williamson traveled from her then home in Wirral to Chester for a Take That signing event. Unfortunately, her dreams of meeting Robbie were thwarted when she was unable to get into the venue. Despite this setback, Jemma stayed outside and was filmed by camera crews, where she took the chance to send a direct message to Robbie, asking the singer to call her.
This footage, which is over 30 years old, was featured in a three-part Take That Netflix documentary. After watching the programme, Robbie Williams, who hails from Stoke-on-Trent, attempted to call the number, leading to the clip going viral and capturing widespread attention.
An Unexpected On-Stage Reunion
During a show at The Halls in Wolverhampton on Monday, February 9, Robbie unexpectedly brought Jemma on stage, as reported by the BBC. Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, he said: "Please welcome Jemma from the Take That documentary."
Jemma repeated her famous phrase from the documentary, shouting: "Robbie's my favourite because he's got gorgeous eyes and a gorgeous body and he can call me any time." Robbie joked with her, asking if she had been inundated with calls, but Jemma clarified that the number was no longer working.
Overwhelming Response and Nostalgia
Jemma, who is now a nursery teacher living in Wolverhampton, received loud cheers of support from the crowd as she was given a warm hug by Robbie. She expressed that she was overwhelmed by the positive response, stating: "I think it's brought back a bit of nostalgia for everybody."
Robbie Williams has been travelling across the UK with his Long 90's tour. The 51-year-old singer mentioned that he chose some smaller venues for this tour, reminiscent of the kind he would have played at the start of his solo career. After more than three decades in showbiz, his new album Britpop has become his 16th number one, breaking a previous record set by The Beatles.
