Former West Bromwich Albion youngster Rayhaan Tulloch has reportedly attracted interest from several European clubs following a string of impressive performances. The 21-year-old forward, who left the Baggies in 2022, has been in fine form for his current club, sparking a potential transfer battle among continental outfits.
Tulloch's rise from West Brom academy
Tulloch came through the ranks at West Brom's academy, making his first-team debut in 2019. However, he struggled to break into the senior side regularly and was allowed to leave on a free transfer to join Belgian side OH Leuven. During his time at the Hawthorns, he made just four senior appearances, with his only goal coming in an FA Cup tie against Charlton Athletic.
Impressive form in Belgium
Since moving to OH Leuven, Tulloch has developed into a key player for the club. This season, he has scored five goals and provided three assists in 18 league appearances, catching the eye of scouts from across Europe. According to sources close to the player, several clubs from Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands have been monitoring his progress closely.
Potential transfer battle
The interest in Tulloch could lead to a bidding war during the upcoming transfer window. OH Leuven are reportedly aware of the attention he is attracting and may look to cash in on the player, who still has two years remaining on his contract. The Belgian club is expected to demand a fee in the region of €2 million for the forward.
West Brom's sell-on clause
West Brom are believed to have inserted a sell-on clause when they allowed Tulloch to leave, meaning they would be entitled to a percentage of any future transfer fee. This could provide a welcome financial boost to the Baggies, who are currently competing in the Championship. The exact percentage of the clause has not been disclosed, but it is standard practice for clubs to include such provisions when young players depart.
Tulloch's potential and future
Standing at 5ft 10in, Tulloch is known for his pace, dribbling ability, and versatility across the front line. His performances have drawn comparisons to other former West Brom academy graduates who have gone on to succeed elsewhere, such as Izzy Brown and Kemar Roofe. If he continues his current trajectory, a move to a top European league could be on the cards.
Speaking about his development, a source close to the player said: “Rayhaan has worked incredibly hard to get to this point. He believes he has what it takes to play at the highest level, and the interest from Europe is a testament to his progress.”
