West Bromwich Albion has revealed its new away kit for the 2026-27 season, a design deeply rooted in the Black Country's industrial heritage. The kit, produced by Puma, pays homage to the region's iconic ironwork and manufacturing past.
Design Details and Inspiration
The shirt features a striking pattern reminiscent of wrought iron, with a dark charcoal base accented by red and white trim. The club crest is presented in a monochrome finish, while the Puma logo and sponsor appear in contrasting white. According to the club, the design was inspired by the intricate metalwork found in historic buildings across the Black Country.
“This kit is a tribute to the hardworking communities that built the Black Country,” said a club spokesperson. “We wanted to create something that resonates with our fans and reflects the pride we have in our heritage.”
Fan Reaction and Availability
The kit has already generated significant buzz among supporters, with many praising its nod to local history. Pre-orders opened on Wednesday, with the shirt priced at £55 for adults and £40 for children. The club expects strong sales, given the positive response on social media.
West Brom will debut the kit in a pre-season friendly against Walsall on July 27. The shirt will be worn throughout the 2026-27 campaign, including Championship matches and cup competitions.
A Nod to the Past
The Black Country, known for its coal mining and ironworking, has long been a source of identity for the club. Previous kits have also incorporated elements of the region's heritage, but this design marks the first time that ironwork has been the central theme. The club hopes the kit will become a fan favorite and a symbol of local pride.
