The Met Office has forecast 'plenty of sunshine' across the West Midlands this weekend, with next week expected to 'become increasingly hot'. After a weekend reaching 28C, temperatures are set to rise further.
Weekend Weather: Warm Start, Hot Finish
Saturday was set to begin 'very warm', with highs of 25C expected. Light winds in the morning were forecast to pick up through the afternoon, with cloudy skies across northern parts of the region by evening. Elsewhere, clear skies were expected, with temperatures dipping to 13C overnight.
Sunday is expected to remain cloudy in the far north, but the Met Office said there would be 'strong sunshine elsewhere'. Winds are also expected to ease, with highs of 28C predicted.
Next Week: Increasingly Hot with Warm Nights
Looking ahead to Monday through Wednesday, the outlook reads: 'Dry with plenty of sunshine next week, turning hazy at times. Becoming increasingly hot with light winds and warm nights.'
Heat Health Alert Issued
A yellow heat health alert has been issued across parts of the Midlands this weekend. The UK Health Security Agency alert runs from 12:00 noon on Saturday, July 4, until 5:00 pm on Wednesday, July 8. It warns that the hot weather could have an impact on health and social care services.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated, keep out of the sun during peak hours, and check on vulnerable relatives and neighbours.
