The West Midlands is set to see a return of warmer weather from mid-week as high pressure builds across the region, bringing settled conditions and rising temperatures. According to the Met Office, after a cool and unsettled start to the week, temperatures will climb to around 20°C by Wednesday and Thursday, offering a welcome change for residents.
High Pressure to Dominate
High pressure is expected to dominate the weather pattern across the UK from Tuesday onwards, with the West Midlands benefiting from drier and brighter conditions. The Met Office spokesperson said, 'High pressure will build from the west, bringing more settled weather with sunny spells and lighter winds. Temperatures will recover to near average for the time of year, reaching the low 20s Celsius in the south.'
Detailed Forecast
Monday will see a mixture of sunshine and showers, with maximum temperatures of 15°C. Tuesday will be largely dry with some sunny intervals, reaching 17°C. From Wednesday, temperatures will rise to 20°C under clear skies, and Thursday will be similarly warm with highs of 20°C. The warm spell is expected to last into the weekend, although some cloud may increase on Friday.
Impact on Residents
The warmer weather will provide a boost for outdoor activities and local businesses, particularly hospitality and tourism. However, the Met Office advises that nights may still be cool, with temperatures dropping to single figures, so residents should be prepared for chilly evenings. The return to settled conditions will also reduce the risk of flooding, which has been a concern in recent weeks due to heavy rain.
