Met Office lists areas for 4th heatwave day Saturday

The Met Office has confirmed a full list of areas where the UK heatwave will continue on Saturday, June 27, marking the fourth consecutive day of extreme temperatures. Hot and humid weather will persist over parts of east and southeast England, with an amber weather warning for extreme heat in effect until 9pm.

Amber warning details and health impacts

The amber warning highlights that adverse health effects are likely to be experienced by those vulnerable to extreme heat. The wider population may also suffer from sunburn, heat exhaustion (including dehydration, nausea, and fatigue), and other heat-related illnesses. Some changes in working practices and daily routines are likely to be required.

According to the Met Office, there is an increased chance that heat-sensitive systems and equipment may fail, potentially leading to power cuts and loss of other services to homes and businesses. More people are expected to visit coastal areas, lakes, and rivers, raising the risk of water safety incidents. Delays to road, rail, and air travel are possible, with potential welfare issues for those experiencing prolonged delays.

Very hot weather will continue to affect eastern and southeastern England, though temperatures may be a few degrees cooler than the previous few days.
