Octopus Energy has unveiled a new home battery range that it says will help millions of households across Europe cut their energy bills. The announcement includes a plug-in battery designed for renters and apartment dwellers, as well as a wall-mounted system for homeowners.
New Battery Options for Different Homes
The Octopus Nook Cube is a compact, shoebox-sized 2kWh battery that plugs into a standard socket and can be controlled via the Octopus app. Additional units can be added to increase storage up to 10.5kWh. For homeowners, the Octopus Nook Colossus is a wall-mounted 5kWh battery that can be stacked to reach 30kWh for larger homes.
Both battery systems are compatible with solar panels and come with a 12-year warranty. They will be available to Octopus customers in the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, and France from next year.
Smart Tariffs Boost Savings
Customers can further reduce costs by pairing the batteries with Octopus's smart tariffs, which have already saved customers nearly £1 billion. This move makes Octopus the first major UK energy supplier to offer its own home battery range directly to consumers.

Growing Demand for Energy Storage
Demand for batteries has surged since the war in the Middle East, as households seek protection from volatile energy prices. Across the UK, Spain, and France, Octopus has already installed nearly 26,000 solar and battery systems, helping customers lower bills and maximize clean energy use.
