The GFS weather model suggests maximum temperatures may reach 30C or more daily until 22 July, pointing to heatwave conditions persisting for at least another 15 days.

The data indicates peaks of 36C arriving on Friday this week across western England, with most central and southern regions reaching at least 32C. Comparable highs may follow on Wednesday next week, with 36C returning to western England. Certain areas of Wales and England's far south could touch 35C.

Saturday next week appears likely to deliver the most extensive hot weather, with northern England also climbing above 30C. Peaks of 37C are possible across eastern England, potentially making it the warmest day of this heatwave, according to the Mirror.

Met Office Forecast: Highs of 35C Possible

The Met Office says temperatures this week are not expected to rise to the levels seen during the June heatwave. However, the national weather agency has predicted some sweltering 35C highs. Predicted temperatures for southern regions include highs of around 32C today, climbing to 33C tomorrow and 34C on Thursday, with some isolated spots potentially hitting 35C on Friday and Saturday.

Met Office Deputy Chief Forecaster Steven Keates said: "Night-time temperatures again will not be as high as what we experienced in June, though some larger urban areas are likely to remain in the high teens overnight, especially later in the week, and there is a chance that a tropical night (where temperatures do not fall below 20C) may be recorded in a few places."

"Much of England and Wales will be hot, and the heat will extend to parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland too, though here peak temperatures are more likely to be in the upper 20s. With high UV and high temperatures, people should take the usual precautions with the heat and the sun," Keates added.
