The United Kingdom is bracing for a new heatwave, with temperatures expected to reach 30 degrees Celsius on June 11. This follows a record-breaking May that saw scorching 35C conditions.

According to the Global Forecast System (GFS) weather model, which utilises Met Desk data, temperatures will once again hit the 30C mark on June 11. The grey and damp start to June is set to be replaced by blistering heat.
Counties Set to Sizzle
Counties predicted to experience the hottest conditions include Gloucestershire, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Cheshire, Lancashire, Essex, Hertfordshire, and Surrey. Other areas expected to roast are Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Wiltshire, and Oxfordshire.
BBC Weather Short-Term Forecast
The BBC Weather team has issued a forecast for the coming week. For Tuesday, June 2, variable cloud and scattered showers are expected, some heavy and thundery in the afternoon. Conditions will turn drier with skies brightening from the west in the evening, and it will be breezy in the south and west.
Tuesday night will start largely dry with variable cloud and a few lingering showers in the north. Rain will spread into Northern Ireland, Wales, and south-western England in the early hours.
Wednesday, June 3, will be cloudy and windy with outbreaks of rain pushing eastwards, occasionally heavy with a risk of thunder in the north. Sunny spells will develop in the south later in the afternoon.
Thursday, June 4, is expected to bring a mix of sunshine and heavy showers, with a risk of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Friday will see sunny spells interspersed with showers in the west and north, while other areas remain drier. Saturday will feature mostly cloudy skies with a chance of light rain in western areas.
