UK Weather Maps Show 22°C Heat Surge Across Six Counties

New weather maps indicate that a substantial part of the UK is set to enjoy temperatures reaching up to 22°C, marking the arrival of warm early-summer conditions. According to maps released by WXCharts, which utilize data from MetDesk, areas including West Sussex, East Sussex, Surrey, Kent, London, and Essex are forecast to experience highs of 22°C by the evening of Friday, May 22.

Warmest Areas Expected

The warmest conditions are anticipated in more protected inland locations away from the coastline. Specifically, eastern sections of Kent, districts around the Thames Estuary, portions of Essex and Suffolk, and stretches near the Norfolk and Suffolk boundary are expected to see the highest temperatures. Across the remainder of southern England and south Wales, temperatures are predicted to remain in the high teens.

Cooler but Pleasant Conditions Further North

Moving northwards, the maps indicate that temperatures will be cooler, though still pleasant. Much of the Midlands is projected to see highs in the late teens, while northern Wales, northern England, and Scotland are expected to witness milder conditions, ranging between approximately 13°C and 17°C. Northern Ireland may be slightly warmer, with temperatures around 18°C in certain areas, as reported by the Mirror.
