New EV Charger and Solar Panel Scheme Saves Drivers Up to £171 Monthly
New EV Charger and Solar Panel Scheme Saves Drivers £171

A new scheme is offering drivers electric vehicle (EV) chargers and solar panels with no upfront costs, potentially saving them up to £171 a month. Heva Energy is providing the scheme, which allows employees to access home energy benefits without a credit check and with net costs as low as £75 per month.

How the Scheme Works

Through pre-tax salary reductions, employees can fund EV chargers, home batteries, and solar panels. For example, an employee earning £60,000 with a company electric vehicle and a high-energy system could pay just £123 per month, while saving £171 monthly on energy costs.

Expert Insight

Ian Napier, co-founder of Heva Energy, commented: "Consumer finance for solar locks you into credit checks and 12 per cent interest rates, while salary sacrifice removes both barriers and offers the deepest savings for those who need them most. This is about transforming energy independence from a luxury to a workplace benefit accessible to every taxpayer."

Growing Demand for Energy Solutions

New data reveals that nine in ten house hunters (93%) list energy solutions like solar panels and EV charging as must-haves. Research from E.ON Next shows a surge in sales of solar panels and batteries (+182%), air source heat pumps (+129%), and EV chargers (+18%) between February and April this year.

70% of prospective buyers now consider energy technology non-negotiable when choosing a property, while over two-thirds (68%) admit they would not have looked for these features a year ago. Almost all buyers (93%) report that growing energy uncertainty shapes their home requirements. Rising energy costs (52%) and a desire for greater energy security (29%) are driving the shift toward improved efficiency.
