Quality Street's Mystery Flavour Revealed as Pineapple Creme
Quality Street's new flavour is Pineapple Creme

Nestlé has finally pulled back the wrapper on its much-anticipated mystery Quality Street sweet, revealing a Pineapple Creme as the latest addition to the iconic British selection. The revelation, made on December 29, has surprised many fans who were expecting a different taste entirely.

The Great Flavour Guesswork

The limited edition sweet appeared without fanfare at pick 'n' mix stands in John Lewis and Waitrose stores nationwide, nestling amongst classics like 'The Purple One' and the 'Toffee Penny'. Its green wrapper sparked a flurry of speculation on social media and amongst shoppers, with many convinced it signalled a tangy citrus or a trendy pistachio flavour, the latter inspired by the recent Dubai chocolate craze.

However, all those guesses were off the mark. The new offering is a pineapple-flavoured cream centre enrobed in milk chocolate, offering a tropical twist to the traditional tin.

Nestlé's Sweet Secret

Rachael Mundy, marketing manager for gifting and seasonal at Nestlé Confectionery UK & Ireland, expressed the company's delight at the speculation. "Each year we look forward to bringing a limited edition sweet into the mix to excite and delight Quality Street fans, but this year we took it a step further by keeping the flavour top secret," she said.

"It’s been so fun hearing everyone’s guesses, and the team is relieved to finally be able to shout about the mysterious Pineapple Creme." The official announcement was made on the brand's X (formerly Twitter) account, confirming the sweet would only be available until the end of January.

Public Reaction to the Tropical Twist

Brits took to social media to share their thoughts on the unveiling. One user admitted, "I wouldn't have guessed pineapple, just need to find a tin now!" Another, who had correctly predicted the flavour, offered a measured review: "Not sure on the Pineapple Quality Street yet, but I don’t hate them."

The successful concealment of the flavour and its eventual reveal has created a buzz around the classic Christmas confectionery, driving fans to hunt down the limited edition Pineapple Creme before it disappears from shelves in the new year.
