Separate Fruit Recall Over Salmonella Fears
Just a day earlier, on June 24, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) announced a recall of pre-packaged fruit products sold at major UK supermarkets due to potential Salmonella contamination. Supplier PrepWorld recalled items after tests detected Salmonella in apples and kiwi used in the products.
Affected retailers include ASDA, Morrisons, M&S, Sainsbury's, Tesco, and Waitrose. All recalled products carry best-before or use-by dates of June 23 or 24.
Products by Retailer
- ASDA: 220g Pink Lady Apple, Mango, Strawberry and Blueberry fruit pot (£2.75).
- Morrisons: 220g Kiwi, Melon and Strawberries pack (£2.50, use-by June 24).
- Tesco: Four products: 250g Melon, Kiwi and Strawberry pots (use-by June 24, £2.50), 100g Kiwi Fruit Pot (£1.50), 290g Fruit Kebabs (£4.10), and 125g Melon, Kiwi and Strawberry packs (£1.50).
