The annual GP Patient Survey for 2026 is now launching, inviting patients across the Midlands to share their experiences and rate the performance of their local doctor's surgeries.
This crucial feedback, gathered directly from the public, forms the definitive list of the region's best and worst-rated practices. The results, typically published in the summer, hold surgeries accountable and highlight areas of excellence and those needing improvement.
West Midlands Practices Praised by Patients
In the 2025 survey, several West Midlands surgeries received glowing praise from their patients, securing a place in the top tier. The practices are assessed on a wide range of factors, including the quality of care received, the experience of making an appointment, and how easy it is to contact the surgery by phone or online.
Patients are asked to give an overall rating of very good, fairly good, fairly poor, or very poor. At the highest-ranked practices, almost all patients reported a positive experience.

It was closely followed by two inner-city centres: Newbridge Surgery in Wolverhampton and Wood Road Surgery in Northfield, Birmingham, both achieving impressive scores of 97%.

The top-rated surgeries will be hoping to maintain their high standards and positions, while others will use the constructive criticism to enhance their patient care and access.
By taking part, residents directly influence the perception and performance of their community healthcare providers, ensuring that the patient's voice remains at the heart of the NHS.
