Tesco offers free breakfast to Armed Forces personnel and veterans

Tesco is set to provide a free hot breakfast to thousands of serving personnel and veterans at 335 cafes across the UK this Sunday, June 28, in recognition of Armed Forces Day. The supermarket chain will reduce the price of seven breakfast items to £0 for those who have served in the Armed Forces, benefiting approximately 160,000 regular shoppers, including 159,000 regulars and 32,000 reservists.

Eligibility and identification requirements

All serving Armed Forces personnel can present their MOD90 identification card at The Café at Tesco to receive the offer. Veterans can also benefit by showing a valid Veteran’s ID card, marking the second consecutive year that veterans have been included. Since 2022, Tesco has given away over 7,800 free breakfasts through this initiative.

Available menu items

The free breakfast options include The Breakfast, The Veggie Breakfast, The Vegan Breakfast, Sausage Bap, Egg Bap, Veggie Bap, or the Bacon Bap. Customers must first go to the drinks counter, show their military ID to a staff member, and receive a coupon. They then take the coupon to the kiosk to place their order, scanning the barcode during the transaction to redeem the free breakfast.
