Former Love Island star Olivia Attwood was forced to make a last-minute withdrawal from Friday's episode of ITV's Loose Women after being struck down by a severe illness.
The 34-year-old reality TV personality was scheduled to appear on the popular daytime panel show but was noticeably absent when the programme began broadcasting.
Unexpected Absence Explained
Host Kaye Adams addressed Olivia's unexpected absence during the show's opening, explaining to viewers that the star had attended the morning meeting but was clearly unwell. "Liv was meant to be with us, and she came into the morning meeting, and she was just dying," Adams told the audience.
She elaborated that Attwood had been suffering from "bug after bug after bug" and speculated she was probably "under a duvet somewhere" while the show aired. Adams sympathised with the situation, noting that illnesses were "just going around" at the moment.
Social Media Health Update
Later that day, Olivia took to her social media accounts to apologise to her fans and provide more detail about her health struggles. In an Instagram story, she revealed she was "on death's door" and asked her followers to keep her company during her recovery.
The television personality disclosed she'd been battling multiple consecutive illnesses, including a chest infection, strep throat, and what she described as "some flu type thing" that she was struggling to shake off.
In a more detailed TikTok video, Olivia reflected on her tendency to push through illness, attributing it to her personality as "the firstborn daughter, first granddaughter, Taurus" who doesn't like to listen to anyone - including her own body.
"I just don't like being defeated," she admitted. "This f*****g thing has defeated me."
She revealed that doctors had ordered her to rest for 24 hours, which she described as being "bone idle" - a state that conflicted with her "half English, half German DNA" and ADHD tendencies.
Recovery Challenges Ahead
Looking toward her busy schedule in the coming week, Olivia appealed to her fans for advice on how to remain sedentary to facilitate her recovery. "So anyone got any tips on how I can remain sedentary so I can get better?" she asked. "Because I have a f*****g crazy f*****g schedule next week."
Her candid admission about her body "finally saying no" after pushing through multiple illnesses highlights the challenges faced by television personalities maintaining demanding work schedules while dealing with health issues.
