Man treated after Tividale house fire

A man was treated by paramedics for suspected smoke inhalation following a house fire in Tividale on Monday night. The fire, which started accidentally in a bedroom, was already out when firefighters arrived.

Emergency response to Pine Road

West Midlands Fire Service received a call shortly before 9.25pm on Monday 22 June to Pine Road in the Tividale area of Oldbury. A fire engine from Tipton and a 4x4 brigade response vehicle from Oldbury attended the scene. Crews found the fire had already been extinguished upon arrival.

Two occupants had left the property before firefighters arrived. The fire service confirmed the blaze is believed to have started accidentally. Firefighters damped down the affected area and ventilated the bedroom to clear any remaining smoke.

Medical treatment at scene

West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 10.10pm and sent an ambulance to the scene. A spokesperson said: “On arrival, crews found a man who they treated for suspected smoke inhalation; however, he did not wish to go to the hospital, so he was discharged at the scene.”

The fire service left the incident at 10.57pm, with police and paramedics also in attendance. Pine Road was temporarily blocked off while emergency services dealt with the incident.
