Police were called to a car park on High Street, Kings Heath, at around 11:30 PM on February 3, 2025, following reports of a man with severe burns. Emergency services found Jack Smith with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham but died on February 5, 2025. A post-mortem examination revealed the cause of death as burn-related injuries.

Detective Inspector Sarah Thompson of West Midlands Police said: “This was a brutal attack that has left a family devastated. Our thoughts remain with Jack’s loved ones. We are committed to securing justice for him.”
