Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor Spotted With Huge Bruise on Face

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former Duke of York, has been photographed with a prominent bruise on his face during his first public sighting in several weeks. The red mark was clearly visible on his cheek as he drove his Land Rover near his Marsh Farm residence in Sandringham.

The origin of the facial blemish remains undisclosed, and representatives for Andrew have been contacted for comment. This appearance comes after a period of low profile following a security incident last month while he was walking his dogs.

Security Scare and Legal Proceedings

In early May, Alex Jenkinson, 39, pleaded not guilty to causing alarm or distress to the royal after an encounter. He was released on bail and is scheduled for trial at Westminster Magistrates Court on July 29, with Andrew expected to testify via videolink.

Royal Ascot Investigation

This outing also marks the first time Andrew has been seen since police announced an investigation into allegations of inappropriate behavior towards a woman at Royal Ascot in 2002. A Thames Valley Police spokesperson stated, "We cannot go into specifics of the investigation, but we are following all reasonable lines of inquiry."

The force, which continues its inquiry, confirmed on May 24 that it would consider allegations of sexual misconduct as part of their investigation into potential misconduct in public office.

Previous Arrest and Ongoing Inquiry

Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office on his 66th birthday, February 19, and interviewed under caution before being released under investigation. Assistant Chief Constable Oliver Wright commented, "Our misconduct in public office investigation is continuing. Misconduct in public office is a crime that can take different forms, making this a complex investigation. Our team of very experienced detectives are working meticulously through a significant amount of information that has come in from the public and other sources. We are committed to conducting a thorough investigation into all reasonable lines of enquiry, wherever they may lead."

The former prince served as the UK's special representative for international trade and investment from 2001 until 2011. He stepped down amid controversy over his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, though he has consistently denied all allegations of wrongdoing.
