Boy, 11, Hospitalised After Bike Hit by Car in West Bromwich

An 11-year-old boy was rushed to hospital after being struck by a car while riding his bicycle in West Bromwich. The collision occurred on Beaconview Road at approximately 6:30 pm on Tuesday, June 2.

The youngster was taken to hospital with injuries that police said are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. The driver of the car stopped at the scene to assist officers.

An image of the crash scene was shared on Facebook, showing police cars blocking Beaconview Road following the incident. West Midlands Police have urged anyone with information to come forward.

A force spokesperson said: "We were called at 6.30pm on Tuesday to Beaconview Road, West Bromwich, after a child riding a bike was hit by a vehicle. The 11-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment. Thankfully, his injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life changing. The driver of the car stayed at the scene to assist with our enquiries."

Appeal for Witnesses

Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting reference 4929 of 2 June. The investigation is ongoing, and officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage.
