Young footballers at Hatton United FC's Under-8s team have begun the year in impressive fashion, sporting a fresh match day kit thanks to a generous £700 donation from construction equipment leader JCB. The team, which trains at The Washlands in Burton upon Trent, is part of one of the largest grassroots junior clubs in the Derbyshire and Burton league, boasting 17 boys' and girls' teams across various age groups.
A Boost for Grassroots Football
Matt Underwood, chairman of Hatton United Junior FC, expressed his gratitude for the sponsorship, highlighting its importance for the club's growth and community impact. He stated: "The club has expanded rapidly over the years to now provide training and competitive football opportunities to more than 250 young people from Hatton and the surrounding areas. To keep our club growing and offering opportunities to children from across the area, while keeping costs to parents as low as possible, we rely on the generosity of local sponsors."
He added: "We are extremely grateful to JCB for its support, which will mean the Under-8s not only look smart in their new match day kit but also remain warm through the colder months. It has been a strong start for 2026, and the new tops have definitely given them a boost this season."
