Encouraging Spirit on Display

Runners were amazed not only by her speed but by her encouragement. One participant posted online: "What a great surprise to see one of our greatest athletes at parkrun today. Such a great role model, encouraging us all round the course and took time to talk to people and do photos. Fantastic."

Volunteer James told BirminghamLive: "She's travelled to a number of events across the country promoting parkrun so it was a surprise visit. Only a week after the millionth parkrun event too."
