Emma Raducanu continues her Wimbledon preparations by facing Donna Vekic in the Queen's final this summer. The 23-year-old's showdown with the Croatian not only adds further impetus to her pursuit of a second career Grand Slam title, but has already given her earnings a considerable boost.
Prize Fund Breakdown
This year's competition boasts a total prize fund of just under £2.23 million. Simply by reaching the final, she has pocketed just shy of £225,000. That's a fairly impressive sum in its own right, reports Wales Online. Yet that figure rises even further should she go on to win.
Triumph in the final would bank Raducanu just shy of £417,000. Her involvement in the doubles competition has swelled those earnings still further, however.
Doubles Performance
Raducanu, partnering Katie Boulter, exited at the last-16 stage, where the pair were defeated by China's Zhang Shuai and Australia's Storm Hunter. Their opponents claimed a 6-4, 3-6, 10-5 victory on the day, a minor setback perhaps amid what has otherwise been a thoroughly impressive tournament for the British number one. Nonetheless, it was sufficient to earn her and her partner around £9,500.
A reasonably solid consolation, though titles are likely to prove a far greater motivation for the Brit.
Wimbledon Prospects
Glory at Wimbledon later this summer would net her a staggering £3.6 million. The bookmakers don't appear particularly confident she'll be crowned champion, however, with Raducanu listed at around 20/1 with some firms, while three-time semi-finalist Aryna Sabalenka is widely tipped as the favourite.
