Strictly Star Faces the Chop Ahead of Blackpool Week
The glitterball trophy is feeling further away than ever for one Strictly Come Dancing couple, with new betting odds suggesting their time on the show is nearly up. This weekend will see another celebrity and professional pair leave the competition, and for the unfortunate duo, it means missing the chance to perform at the iconic Blackpool Tower.
Who is the Favourite to Leave Strictly?
According to exclusive odds from Betway, the spotlight is firmly on Balvinder Sopal and her dance partner Julian Caillon. Despite managing to dodge the bottom two last weekend when they were the bookies' favourites to leave, their luck may have run out. They now face odds of 150/1 on being eliminated in the upcoming show.
Also at significant risk is La Voix, who was saved by the judges in last weekend's dramatic dance-off which saw Harry Aikines-Aryeetey sent home. La Voix has odds of 100/1 on making an exit this Sunday.
The Emotional Toll of the Competition
The pressure of the competition was laid bare when Balvinder and Julian appeared on the sister show, It Takes Two. Balvinder confessed to host Fleur East about the immense challenge of learning their Rumba routine, revealing she had a particularly difficult moment during the week.
"The rumba, it was the hardest thing to learn," she admitted. "Literally, on Tuesday, I'd thrown the towel in and went, 'I can't do it,' I sat in a corner and cried." She credited her partner Julian for his patient support, recalling he said, "When you're ready, bro... we've got to get this done."
While one couple's journey is likely ending, the race for the Glitterball Trophy continues to heat up. George Clarke remains the clear frontrunner to win the entire competition, with impressive odds of 10/11. He is followed by Lewis Cope from Emmerdale in second place with odds of 11/4, and Vicky Pattison as the third favourite with odds of 6/1.
