Birmingham Airport has issued a new update for passengers flying with Ryanair, advising them to arrive at check-in desks three hours before departure for flights scheduled before 6pm. The announcement was made via Instagram, where the airport shared a reel stating: "Flying before 18:00 with Ryanair? Check-in desks now open 3 hours before departure."
Check-In Guidance for Peak Times
On the Birmingham Airport website, further details are provided for travellers checking in ahead of their flights. The airport warns that "it may take longer than expected" during peak times. To ensure a smooth check-in process, they ask travellers to "make sure you have all your required documentation to board your flight."
Airport Layout and Facilities
Birmingham Airport operates a single terminal for all arriving and departing flights. Airline and handling agent desks are located on the ground floor of the check-in halls. Self-service check-in kiosks, available only for some airlines, can be found on both the ground and first floors of the check-in halls. Wayfinding signs are available to help passengers locate the correct desk for their airline: Zone A is for Jet2, Zone D for Emirates, and Zones B and C for all other airlines, including Ryanair.
Additional Information
Check-in times are usually printed on boarding cards, but passengers are advised to confirm precise times with their airline. The airport emphasizes the importance of having all required documentation ready to avoid delays.
