Birmingham Road Reopening Times After Villa Parade

Several Birmingham city centre streets have been closed as thousands of jubilant Aston Villa fans gather to celebrate the team's UEFA Europa League final triumph in Istanbul. The open-top bus victory parade will commence at approximately 4.30pm on Thursday, May 21, starting from Branston Street in the Jewellery Quarter.

The 4.5-kilometre route will see the team—who defeated SC Freiburg 3-0—travel through Sand Pits, Broad Street, and Centenary Square. The parade is expected to last between 60 and 90 minutes.

Road Closures and Parking Suspensions

Birmingham City Council has implemented a number of road closures and parking suspensions for the event. The affected roads include:

Road closures will remain in place until 10pm, though they could be reopened earlier if conditions allow. Parking bay restrictions will be lifted at 10pm.

Public Transport Disruptions

National Express West Midlands has announced that bus services 8A, 8C, 829, 9, 126, X10, X8, 822, 12, 13, 23, 24, 82, 87, and 101 will be subject to diversions and some bus stop changes until 10pm. Passengers are advised to check social media and bus stops for details.

West Midlands Metro services between Edgbaston Village and Grand Central will be suspended until 10pm. Prior to this, trams will operate only between Wolverhampton and Grand Central.
