A commercial flight operated by the Satena airline has vanished from radar screens over Colombia, sparking an urgent search and rescue operation. The aircraft, which was carrying over a dozen passengers and crew members, lost communication during a domestic journey on Wednesday.
Flight Disappears During Routine Journey
The flight was travelling between the municipalities of Cúcuta and Ocaña in Colombia when it disappeared from flight tracking systems. According to radar data, the final recorded position was in the area between Hacarí and La Playa de Belén, within the remote Catatumbo region of the country.
Passenger and Crew Details Emerge
Local authorities have confirmed that a total of fifteen people were on board the missing aircraft. This includes thirteen passengers and two crew members. Unverified reports suggest that Diógenes Quintero, a member of the Colombian House of Representatives, may have been among the passengers, though this has not been officially confirmed by crisis officials.

In response to the disappearance, Colombian officials have established a crisis committee to coordinate search efforts. The aircraft was scheduled to land around noon local time on Wednesday, but failed to arrive at its destination, triggering the emergency response.
