Wizz Air Launches 6 New Routes from £22.99 from London Luton
Wizz Air's 6 new European routes from £22.99

British holidaymakers are set for a boost as budget airline Wizz Air announces a significant expansion from its UK base. The carrier is launching six brand-new flight routes from London Luton Airport, with introductory one-way fares starting from an eye-catching £22.99.

Sun, Sea and City Breaks: The New Destinations

The expansion focuses heavily on popular summer sun destinations, with four of the six new services heading to Greek islands. Travellers from London Luton will soon be able to fly directly to Chania in Crete, Mykonos, Rhodes, and Zakynthos.

For those seeking culture or business trips, Wizz Air is also adding two mainland European city routes. The new connections will serve Bordeaux in France and Dortmund in Germany, offering alternatives for shorter breaks.

Key Dates and Competitive Pricing

The launch of these services is staggered across the year. The routes to Bordeaux and Dortmund will commence first, with operations starting on 29 March 2026. The four Greek island routes, tailored for the peak summer season, will begin in May and June 2026.

Wizz Air is positioning these flights aggressively in the market. The cheapest of the new offerings is the London Luton to Bordeaux service, priced from £22.99 for a one-way journey and operating four times weekly. This undercuts competitor EasyJet's typical starting fares for the same route.

A Wider Strategy for Growth

This route launch is part of a broader expansion for Wizz Air at London Luton, which it brands as "London's low-cost airline." To support the new services, the airline is adding a 14th aircraft to its Luton-based fleet. This increase in capacity is designed to provide UK customers with greater choice and flexibility.

In a separate but related move, Wizz Air is also boosting frequency on an existing popular route. Services to Tirana, Albania, will increase to four flights daily, highlighting the airline's focus on growth across its network.

Both Wizz Air UK's Managing Director and London Luton Airport’s Interim Director have welcomed the expansion. They emphasised how the new routes make a diverse range of destinations—from iconic Greek beaches to culturally rich European cities—more accessible and affordable for British travellers.
