A Midlands driver was stopped by police after being caught racing on the M6. The incident occurred over the Bank Holiday weekend when officers from West Midlands Traffic responded to reports of a vehicle racing with others on the motorway.

Vehicle Seized Under Section 59

Following the seizure, police confirmed that a Section 59 warning had already been issued. Section 59 of the Police Reform Act allows officers to tackle anti-social driving by seizing vehicles. As a result, the driver's BMW was seized and he was reported for several offences.

Police Statement

On social media platform X, West Midlands Traffic posted: "A-Unit #247Interceptors responded to calls reporting this vehicle racing on the M6 with others. Unfortunately for the driver, a Section 59 warning had already been issued. Therefore, it was seized and the driver reported for several offences."

This incident is part of a broader crackdown on dangerous driving over the Bank Holiday weekend. In a separate case, police stopped a suspected stolen car on the M6, which reportedly began at Birmingham Airport.
