The West Midlands, including Birmingham, has already experienced travel disruption after being peppered by snow over the past week. The adverse conditions forced several schools across the region to close their doors. According to the latest data from WX Charts, the new wave of snow is expected to arrive in Birmingham from early Tuesday morning. The modelling suggests a spell of 2.7cm per hour could hit at 3am on Tuesday, followed by 2.4cm per hour at 6am.
The most significant accumulation is forecast for the early hours of Wednesday, January 7. At 12am on Wednesday3.7cm of snowfall is predicted, potentially accompanied by 4.9mm of rain.

The Met Office's forecast for Tuesday confirms a continued cold spell, with a mixture of rain, sleet, and snow expected across northern areas. Their outlook from Wednesday to Friday indicates the cold weather will persist.
"Staying cold with frontal systems pushing in from the west," the forecast states. "A mixture of rain, sleet and snow will move across the country at times with a risk of strong winds."
