A multi-vehicle crash brought traffic to a standstill on the M6 in Staffordshire on Monday, June 15. Emergency services were called to the northbound carriageway between junctions 15 (Newcastle-under-Lyme) and 16 (Crewe) just before noon.
Injuries and response
Two people were being assessed by medics at the scene. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We are currently in attendance at a three vehicle road traffic collision on the northbound carriageway of the M6 between junctions 15 and 16, Newcastle. Two ambulances are on the scene after receiving a 999 call from police at 11.59am. Two people are being assessed."
Traffic impact
Traffic was held in the aftermath of the crash, with National Highways warning motorists to expect delays of 45 minutes on the approach. An update at 12.45pm said traffic had been released, although two lanes remained closed. Staffordshire Police has also been approached for comment.
