M6 crash: Woman dies after four-vehicle collision

A woman has tragically died following a serious collision involving four vehicles on the M6 motorway in Warwickshire.

Details of the fatal collision

The incident occurred on the southbound carriageway between junctions 3 and 4, close to Corley Services. It happened at approximately 10.30am on Wednesday, 10 December.

Warwickshire Police confirmed the collision involved four specific vehicles:

  • A black Ford Transit van
  • An articulated HGV
  • A silver BMW
  • A black Vauxhall Mokka

The driver of the Ford Transit van, a woman aged in her 60s, was taken to hospital by emergency services. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, she later died from her injuries. Her next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers.

Police launch urgent witness appeal

Investigators from Warwickshire Police have launched a full investigation into the circumstances of the crash. They are now making an urgent public appeal for information.

A force spokesperson said: "We’re appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage of a motorway collision after a woman sadly died. Investigating officers would like anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicles, and how they were being driven to come forward."

Police are particularly keen to obtain any dashcam footage from motorists who were travelling on that stretch of the M6 around the time of the incident. It is understood the van involved ended up colliding with the central reservation.
