West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed the details in a statement: “We were called to reports of a collision involving a car and pedestrian at the junction of Vicar Street and Dudley Street at 5.06pm yesterday. On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was the pedestrian. He was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to Russells Hall Hospital for further assessment.”

Road Closures and Delays

Both Vicar Street and Dudley Street were closed following the crash, causing delays in the area. West Midlands Roads advised motorists to expect delays and plan ahead. In a statement on social media at 5.41pm, they said: “Vicar Street and Dudley Street, Sedgley. Due to a collision on Vicar Street, both streets are closed. Expect some delays in the area, plan ahead.”

West Midlands Police provided an update, stating: “We were called to Vicar Street in Sedgley at just after 5pm yesterday to reports of a collision. A pedestrian was taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening. The road has since re-opened.”

The man’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, according to police. The road has since reopened, and investigations into the collision are ongoing.
