A man in his 60s has sustained serious injuries after being struck by a bus in central Birmingham.
Emergency Response to Digbeth Incident
The collision occurred on Monday, 1 December, just before 4:50 pm. It happened at a crossing on the high street directly outside the busy Digbeth Coach Station.
Emergency services, including West Midlands Police and the West Midlands Ambulance Service, were quickly dispatched to the scene. The ambulance service reported receiving multiple 999 calls about the incident.
Victim's Condition and Scene Details
The pedestrian, a man in his 60s, was treated at the scene by a dedicated ambulance crew for potentially serious injuries. He was then transported to Midland Metropolitan University Hospital for further care.
West Midlands Police have since confirmed that the man is in a stable condition in hospital.
Pictures from the location showed an NX West Midlands double-decker bus stopped at the crossing. The vehicle's windscreen was visibly smashed following the impact.
